During a recent stay in San Francisco I was really craving a chicken sandwich and maybe some wings, and then I found "The Bird." The menu consists of wings, fries, and a few different chicken sandwiches. Living overseas, I tried the buffalo wings and the buffalo chicken sandwich - the wings were good, a flavor that I had truly missed. The sandwich wasn't bad, but I felt that the buffalo sauce didn't taste the same way on the sandwich as it did on the wings, and I honestly didn't love it. If I were go to back I would try a different sandwich. However, overall I enjoyed the food and the no frills straight forward menu - definitely recommend if you're a wings and/or chicken sandwich fan.

Ever wondered where to find the best Nashville hot chicken in San Francisco? Look no further than "The Bird." As soon as you step inside, the music sets a fun and lively vibe that instantly elevates your mood. I recently visited this gem after the lunch hour rush and was pleasantly surprised to find plenty of seating available. The rustic butcher block tables and stools give the place a charming back-south feel, making it an ideal spot for a casual lunch with colleagues or a quick bite to eat before a cozy Netflix session. The real star of the show at "The Bird" is, of course, the Nashville hot chicken. Each bite is a burst of flavor, with the perfect combination of crispy coating and juicy, tender meat. Whether you prefer it mild or extra spicy, "The Bird" offers a range of heat levels to suit every palate. Pair it with their delicious sides like tater tots, curly fries and coleslaw or add a biscuit orapple fritters for a complete and satisfying meal that will leave you craving more.

Checked out the bird yesterday after a volleyball tournament at the Moscone! It was only a couple of blocks away walking which was super convenient! Also they were open on Labor Day!! The chicken sandwich was delicious! I'm sometimes worried about dry chicken when I order these sandwiches, but not here!! The chicken was tasty and tender. I didn't try the spicy, but someone said it wasn't too spicy and he wished it was hotter. The tater tots were delicious too! They were crunchy and flavorful but sadly the curly fries were a miss for me. They were a little hard and chewy for me. They have a few outdoor tables and mostly high tops inside! You also order at the counter and then go up and grab your food, so super casual dining! I'll be back for more sandwiches!

It's been a few years since I've been to my favorite chicken sandwich place ever as I visited the nearby SFSOMA museum. Chicken sandwich (5/5): I got this non-spicy as it comes with apple slices and onions. The chicken was so juicy and pleasent with the sauce. Loaded fries (4/5): a bit too loaded for me as the sauce was a bit too heavy. I felt like they just put a bunch of stuff on here Still my favorite chicken sandwich place in SF

One night we were craving fried chicken sandwiches and did some research, and people said this spot had some of the best fried chicken sandwiches in sf so we decided to try it and order takeout. The price point was pretty good for the portions. The waffle fries were good but bit on the oily side. There was also a variety of sauces to order, so it was nice to have some different dips for the fries. We enjoyed the burgers as well and thought there was a good level of spice, although the chicken was a little dry to us. We were glad to try it but probably would not get the same items again.

Our last stop for our weekend in SF was The Bird. I've only heard good things about this place, so I was really excited to try. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich and curly fries. The curly fries were good, but aren't all curly fries good? The chicken sandwich was the juiciest fried chicken sandwich I've ever had, but the flavor was a bit lackluster. I wish the sauce was stronger or more complimentary. Overall, it's a very solid chicken sandwich. It's cooked and fried perfectly, but a good sauce can make it a 5/5.

Went on a Saturday afternoon so it wasn't incredibly busy. Food ordered: One Wing -Classic (8/10): definitely was fresh and piping hot! The crispiness of the skin was perfect even though it was still really greasy. I felt like it was fine without the ranch side dip since it was only one wing but with multiple wings, i'd recommend the ranch because it gets a bit greasy in taste. The apple slaw was also good in helping with the grease. Fried Chicken Sandwich -Spicy (9/10): was hot temperature wise and in flavor. I have a lower spice tolerance but the spice was just enough that it gave it flavor and wasn't overpowering. Curly Fries (8/10): I haven't had curly fries in so long and these were delicious! We ordered on the screen by ourselves, but the staff was very friendly if we had any questions. The noise was average, but a decent place to eat with a friend and watch a game/drink a beer.
